Rottweiler whelps

We have a dam Rottweiler that just whelped 4 days ago. Took to vet for docking at 56 hrs old and she kept saying haw big the pups were. Average weights was from .74-1.27 at 24 hrs. 8 pups in litter. Vet had trouble with docking due to size. What is average weight for this breed at whelping? Thanks!

The pups sound like they are a perfect weight. Typically a pound a pup is average.

Did your female have trouble whelping them?

I would question the experience your vet has with Rotties. Tail docking issues because of size... sounds suspect to me.
