tie

i asked a question at the begining of the week re-tie were my rottie dog only tied for a few moments , he tied last nite for 25 mins which is alot better this is the first time my rottie bitch(2yrold)has been mated how many times is it best to let them tie? i do own the rottie dog ive kept them apart some people have said let them tie 3 times shes had a sucessfull tie more than 25mins each time again today, what is best as i dont want her to have a to big litter as its her first lot of pups ?

Normally most breeders have three matings with a day in between. Although one tie is usually sufficient having several ties increases the chances of a positive pregnancy & skipping a day in between will allow the male's sperm to regenerate so it will be at a high enough potency & quality. I'd say if you've had one brief tie & one normal one that should be sufficient.
