akita whelping: when to start counting days before whelp

I'm afraid this will end up in a fee.  I trying to establish from what day does one start counting from whelping.  My beautiful bitch had an implant via fresh chilled and "somebody" is telling me you start from the first day of ovulation, even if she wasn't implanted that day.  The implant was 2 days later.  I can ask my vet and visit her after the new year.  This is just bugging me.

Hi. Nope, no fee here. Most breeders count from the day the dog was bred. Unless you do progesterone testing, you really won't know for sure the day she ovulated. Count from from the day she was bred, and you'll have your due date, unless she goes a day or two early/late. Good luck!
