Question
Hi, I adopted a basset hound 2 years of age, and he is just wonderful.  My other basset I had for 11 years passed away.  This basset is housetrained however goes 4 times a day, and I dont mean urinate.  Should I change his food, can his food go through him too fast.  It is not loose it is of fine consistency.

Answer
Hey,
No, some dogs just go many times, changing his food won't change how many times he relieves himself. Just make sure that he is not underweight, if the dog is overweight you won't be able to see his ribs, if he is underweight then his ribs show. A dog with the perfect weight is the dog where the rib's trim is visible, yet not out there. If you suspect the dogs is underweight take him to the vet. I think it is normal, I wouldn't worry if I were you.
Good luck...
