QuestionGood morning,
I have a 7 yr old English Bulldog who has never been spayed and was never mated with any male dogs. 3 days ago, we noticed what we thought was spilled milk on the floor. We kept seeing this throughout the house. My husband decided to squeeze her teat and sure enough she was leaking milk. We know for a fact she's not pregnant because her last cycle was 4 months ago and there were no male dogs anywhere near her. Why is this happening to her?
Thanks,
Yvette
AnswerYvette,
She is having a false pregnancy. This can be painful and emotional for a female dog. I would get her spayed, if you can and this will alleviate the problem. If she has one false pregnancy, she will probably have more. Give her a toy so she can "mother" it for now.
