Question
Hi there I have a chow pit bull lab mix he is neutered about 6 years old and about 70 pounds he is a male. I rescued him from the pound at 8 months old and he lives at my home with 2 other male australian blue cattle dogs and a female australian shepard and a female australian cattle dog. My girl dogs are mostly indoors as were I live gets very hot and they really do not like to go outside other than to go for a walk or to go to the bathroom. As for my blue cattle dogs they live to be outside on my half acre and also adore my lab mix. Just recently he has started to destroy everthing outside, chew on my fence posts destroy plastic flower pots and just be out of control. Last nite I put him in his crate which he has been using since he was a puppy and totaly goes in on his own,To my dissmay 1 hour later I find him roaming around in my garage with either side of his snout totaly banged up and swollan. He bent the bars on the wire crate and pushed his way out doing damage to his snout with no regards to his personal well being. I imediatly tended to his snout as I have some atibiotic creame the the vet had given to him in the past for something simalar I also consulted my vet and she said that it would be fine to use. I brougt him inside as I thought that was what he wanted but he did not want to stay in for very long. I fixed the crate and had to wire it shut to keep him from hurting himself again. I woke up this morning to go and put him out side and he had urinated in the crate and all over the floor, By the way I had also put him out last night after bringing him inside to see if he needed to go to the bathroom which he did not. He is out side rite now and asleeep under his favorite tree as I am writing you this. I love him a lot but I really do not no what to do,I am in my mid thirties and I have had dogs my whole life my four other dogs are so well behaved and so was this one until just a few days ago, He gets plenty of attention walks, treats before bed good food, rice and boiled chicken on top of his kibble, I am completly lost on what to do I hope you can help as I really do not want to have to get rid of him. Thanks so much for taking the time to read this, thanks again Joe

Answer
Well it sounds as if he's bored-and it's good he gets lots of walks and attention ect What you can do,is look into enrolling him in doggy activities like flyball or agility,as he can have not only fun,but it gives him something to do

There's alot of clubs and trainers out there that do that type of thing, our vet may even have the number of some of them
