7 week old puppy vomiting, plz help.

Hello,

I just adopted a puppy last week, she's half Maltese and half Yorker. She's been healthy and very playful so far. This morning she vomited and it happened again tonight after eating her food. I feed her Royal Canin small breed puppy food. I also got her treats last night, the sales people at Petco told me this was the best and healthiest: Milk bone's Selection. I gave her one last night and one today around noon.

My puppy hasn't been out of the house yet and I am taking her to the vet for the first time this Thursday for a check up and vaccination.

Her behavior hasn't changed, she's still very playful and doesn't seem to be in pain, but I'm still very worried her as this is my first experience with dogs.

Can you please give me some advice?

It is possible the milk bones selection have made her vomit. Some Dogs are very sensitive to milk products and it causes them to vomit. It is similar to a Human being allergic to Chicken which causes that person to Vomit.

Take your Dog off the food you are currently giving her, and instead give her something light to eat for the next 48 hours. Light food will consist of scrambled egg, or boiled rice with some grilled meat included in it.

Also keep your puppies fluid intake up and give her plenty of fluids to drink such as water.

Also as the Vet to check her on Thursday incase she's picked up a viral tummy bug which may be going round.
