Food allergys in shiba Inus

My shiba "brutis" licks his feet alot, The tops of his feet are a dark reddish/brown, someone told me it is a reaction to wheat in his bones &/or food,could this be? and if not wheat.what might it be ??  THANX ! Tom & BRUTIS

Hi, I have heard the same thing for wheat allergies, but also this can be an anxiety problem too. How old is your Shiba and how long has he been doing this? I would try wheat free foods for awhile, and if this doesn't solve it then you probably do have an anxiety problem to deal with.
