Question
About a month ago we got a schnauzer ,she about a year old, shes was getting along fine, but today my girl must have given her a too tight hug and she bit her,and now whenever she sees her the dog throws herself at my girl and frightens her and me too death.we love her and dont want to give her up but we dont know what to do.

Answer
Personally, I think I would return this dog to the breeder; she just sounds too unreliable to be around your child.

If you really want to keep her, you must get her into on-going obedience classes immediately, start practicing Nothing in Life is Free (http://k9deb.com/nilif.htm) with her, and supervise the dog and the child at all times; never leave them alone together, and teach the child to respect the dog and her space.

You don't say how old your child is, but most dogs consider children to be their littermates and want to behave accordingly, with rough-and-tumble play, biting, etc. Problems generally arise when the dog is too dominant for the household and begins to assert itself over the child, and after a month, your dog is now beginning to feel comfortable in your home and be herself.
