hurt leg or foot

hi, I have a 5 month boxer. My little brother made him fall dont 3 house stairs. He hurt the back right foot. when he walks he brings his foot up and limps. It does not look like it broken. He move his foot up and down but he can not walk on it. What do you think i should do befor i take him to the vet. This all happen just yesterday

It is possible that your Dog could of broke one of his toes or badly torn his ligaments in his lower leg. Symptoms of a fracture, break or torn ligaments is limping and unability to put affected limb to the floor and sometimes a inability to walk on the affected limb.

Unfortunately there is no medication for pain relief you can give your Dog apart from applying a cold compress to any swelling and to try to keep him off his affected leg/foot. Walking on a injury can make it worse especially if its a break, fracture or torn ligaments.

Contact your Vet today and make a Emergency appointment if a normal appointment is not availble in the next 24hours.
