yorkie pup potty training regression after neutering

I have a 6 month old yorkie who seems to have regressed in house training. We had him neutered 1 week ago today, but yet he is peeing (& pooping) in odd places around our house. This started over the weekend. Are the two connected?

Sometimes it may make them pee more for a week or so due to the fluid intake from the IV they are hooked up on

But also sometimes this happens when dogs have been boarded,even just for overnight they 'forget' when they come home-it's so much the surgery in that case,but from being in a different environment

You may have to start from the beginning in house training but it won't take as long as it did when he was a puppy as he will soon 'remember' what the rules are
