Snapping Shitzu 6 months old

I just bought this female Shitzu puppy from a breeder. The dog is 6 months old and when she is annoyed, or doesn't want to be touched she snaps at you.  The breeder says it's because everything is new to her.  She seems jumpy and frightened.    I hope to enroll in a dog obedience class, but if I put the leash on or take it off on she sometimes snaps too.  How can I prevent this from persisting?

It is a good idea to enroll her in obedience classes,that is a step in the right direction

But what you can do for now when she snaps spray her with a water bottle and say 'no bites' loud and firm,this can't be allowed as it will get worse

As for her being jumpy,that is common in dogs that have stayed in a kennel,and usually goes away once the dog gets more used to the new place
