Question
I have a daschund puppy that was born blind in one eye and deaf.  I having difficulty training her in anything.  It is difficult because she can not hear so verbal commands will not work. Do you have any suggestions.

Answer
There is a woman here who runs deaf white bull terriers in agility. They have actually made it to the NADAC Championships the last two years, and it is quite remarkable to watch them run together!

She uses food motivation and lots of hand signals to train. When the dog is correct, she gets very excited and happy and raises her hands up in the air. Dogs respond more to body language than anything, so you just need to figure out what signals you will use for your dog.

Here is a site that might help you a bit: http://www.deafdogs.org/training/signs.php
