menstrating

My pitbull is between 8 and 9 years old-do they ever stop menstrating. What can calm her during that time?

You'd probably need to ask your vet that question; I have no medical background so have no knowledge as to how long a dog experiences its "season."  However, having her spayed will eliminate it completely.  As far as "calming" her, you might try a health food store - they may have some herbal remedies for dogs.  Or, again, you ask your vet for advice on this as well.
