Question
we have a 3 month old female peek-a-poo who is peeing excessively.  we can take her for a walk outside, she will urinate 2-3 times then come inside and pees multiple times. we don't know if this is normal for a pup or could this be a possible UTI ? she seems to drink normally and appetite is good. very playful up until two days ago where she seems to be getting tired quicker.  she also chews at her behind more than normally.she has been on zithromax and doxycycine 400 mg plus proprietary Chinese herb formula 11 ml per volume for kennel cough which she has had since we got her Christmas eve. please help

Answer
Something strange has happened with your question.  I don't know why I am getting it with somebody else's answer already.  I do have to agree, it is back to the vet Monday.

Hi Dave,

Doxycycine is a drug used to treat urinary tract infections. It could be that your puppy wasn't on the medication long enough to fully wipe out the infection, or the infection could have returned.

Whatever the case, frequent urination means a trip to the vet. You didn't say if your vet diagnosed the Kennel Cough, but since you'll be at the vet, having the doctor evaluate the puppy's condition isn't a bad idea.

Best of luck,
Patti
