Question
My clippers #30 blade with comb attachment has been getting clogged on  ShihTzu hair right after the first stroke. They are clean, oiled and new. This has never occured before and now its happening all the time. I am very perplexed and frustrated because I can't determine why. It is making my job very frustrating. It can't just be me. Please help.

Answer
Mary,
there is a saying that when it comes to hardware and things don't work, men blame the equipment and women blame themselves.
You're right ! It's not you.
You don't say what brand it is or which quality- pro or home. Alot of those cheaper home quality barber clippers are worthless on a dog- specially a ShihTzu with such thick hair. I would take the thing back if this is the case and exchange it for professional quality.
If it is, in fact for pet pros, then the blade or the mechanism that drives the blade is out of whack. Send it back or call the company and ask for a replacement. They are usually good that way- especially if it has been that way from the start.
What kind of snap on comb are you using? Could that be the problem? If the blade works without the snap on then that is another story.
Look up a local repair person- they list online and have them give a look.
good luck.
