Question
I live in a remote area where I can't find blade oil for my Oster A5 clipper. Sources on the internet want between $10 and  $15 to ship a $3 item to Hawaii.  What can I use for a substitute blade oil for dog grooming?

Answer
Hello,
If you have a Home Depot or other type of do it yourself
supply hardware store you can get similar types of lubricant
there. Basically it's the same type of oil that is used on small mechanical tools.
If you have an empty container lying around bring it with you and they will be able to show you comparable brands. One brand I do know of that is usable is called 3 in 1 made by wd40. It is sold at any auto parts store or hardware store. This product works very well and it only costs about three or four dollars.
I have also heard of people using mineral oil. But I have
never tried it myself, so I cannot give you a definite answer on how well it works.
I hope I have been of some assistance to you.
Good luck and God bless !
