Nail Issue

Question
My 5 year old lab mix does not allow us to use clippers on our nails.  She runs to us and jumps on us if we attempt to clip our own nails.  She also resists getting her own nails clipped.  The groomer called us and informed us he could not continue her clipping last month.  She pulled always and would not be still.  She must have been hurt at one time or another - I don't know what to do about this?

Answer
Well this happens- who can say why sometimes. This becomes a vet issue because everyones safety is involved. Most importantly your dogs.
My feeling about dogs who absolutely freak about this is- forget about it. Unless it becomes dangerous like winding into the skin or something. Sometimes they break. Honestly if they are not wearing them down by themselves only sedation will work. There is no magic bullet other than bodywrestling the dog and that never fixes things. So talk to your vet. They may have techs willing to work with them.
good luck
