Question
Our Choc lab 8 years old was diagnosed with CRF in Oct. 2010. She has always been feed Prescription diet I/d never any human food. However since she has had the CRF we have tried K/D which she loves but it has way to much fat for her and she got pancreatitis and her lipase  and creatin numbers went thru the roof. So now we have her back on G/D and we can't get her to eat it. Our vet has agreed that we need to find something we can make that will low in protein and low in fat and low in phosphurs. We walk a fine line in trying to get something that she will eat. We are giving her subQ fluids 500 ml per day thru a microclave. Any help or suggestions would be very helpful as she is the empty nest child and we love her so much and want to do everything we can do. Thanks.

Answer
Hello Lindy,

I am not a vet, so with the issues you are facing I can not give you any advise.  Your vet is better suited to help make a diet plan for your dog.  There is a supplement that I always suggest and that is NuVet Plus www.nuvet.com/42299 is the website - I know that here are lots of testimonials and perhaps this will help your lab get to feeling better.

I hope you find a food that she will enjoy and be good for her condition.

Best wishes.
