I have a 2 year old shih tzu and I have lined up a stud the owner of the stud has told me I have to take my bitch to him otherwise they won't mate. Is this true?

Hi David, I am not a breeder but I though the boy comes to the females home most of the time.
As him if the boy can come to your place for the week.
