QuestionI have a 4y old white toy poodle. When I blowdryed her today after her bath I noticed that her skin is dark in most areas. She was pink everywhere and it is a dark color in most places. she is in heat does that have anything to do with it or should I be more concered?
AnswerHi Nikki :-)
Her being in Heat isn't anything to do with the patches of darker skin colour in your Poodle.
I have heard of some Poodles....white Poodles especially who's skin colour changes from pink to a darker pinkish/brown colour but this is all the information I have about this unfortunately. I do not know if this is normal or what because I have dark coloured Poodles and not white.
However I do know that white Poodles are more prone to skin conditions and Eczema.
Based on what you said I would believe this is caused by skin pigmentation or it may even be skin warts appearing even though she would be too young for this realistically. I would contact your Vet for futher advice to be certain it is nothing that needs checking over.
Take care & all the best.
