Question
I recently lost my 16 year old Standard Poodle, Chloe -- devastating. But, in the process of looking for another Standard, breeders have asked me about my dog's longevity, which runs in her sire's lineage. But, the breeder dhere I got chloe has died and I do not know how to sind out anything about Chloe's sire,"Chance". the breeder's name was Pat Dundee from Nashville Tennessee. Can you help me?

Answer
Hello again Julie,
A reader read your message and thought you might be interested in this lady named Catherine McGinnis, who is on the board of the Poodle Health Registery and is a big Poodle Breeder.  She might know the Breeder or may have information on your dogs lineage.
Here is the message in whole.

"...I thought u may want to refer her to Catherine Mcginnis, she is a board member of the Poodle Health Registry and is an excellent Std. Poodle breeder.  I just purchased a puppy, he is now 4 months old.  I had had 2 std.'s that died at 2-1/2 due to poor breeding and almost spent all the money I had on their health.  Cathy only has puppies which she needs to add to her show line.  Had not had puppies in over 3 yrs.  Anyway, she is the best I could find and I hunted all over North America.  Just thought this reader and owner of Chloe might find Cathy helpful..."

Anyway, hope you have found out more information on Chloe and that this little bit helps you.
Kim
I left the previous message on here if you need it.

Hello Julie,
About the only thing I can tell you is that you need to know your dogs full registered name before you can find out anything about her history.  You can find out lots of information through the American Kennel Club (http://www.akc.org), if your dog or her parents were registered through them.  You will need their full registered name, which will be the name listed on your dogs papers, and maybe even their registration number, which would be listed along with their names.
Do you have registration papers for Chloe?  If you do, you should at least be able to find out about her sire, when he was born, when he died, etc.
If you don't have registration papers for Chloe, then the only other thing you can do is try to contact anyone who knew or worked with Pat Dundee and see if they can tell you anything about Chance.  You might also look up her Kennel Name to see if it still exists, maybe she sold her kennel or someone is still running it.
If you know the kennel name and if you find Chance's registered name, let me know and I will see what I can find for you.
