Question
I HAVE A 6 YEAR OLD TOY POODLE. HE'S ACTING KIND OF SLUGGISH. HE DOESN'T SEEM TO WANT TO WALK. WE LIVE UPSTAIRS, HE WON'T GO DOWN OR COME UP. WHAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM?

Answer
Well at 6 years he could be suffering a bit from arthritis but he is still quite young for that.  Is he limping at all.  I think I would take him into the vet and tell the vet the problem and have his knees looked at.  He could have a problem with Patellar Luxation (popping kneecaps)and that could really be slowing him down.  Or he could have become injured from jumping up or off furniture when you did not see.  Since it is out of the ordinary for him I would take him into the vet and have him checked to make sure its nothing too serious.
Another thing to check out is, IF you have been feeding him any canned dog food, he could have some serious issues becuase of the rat poision that has been found in the canned food.  There was a recall of dog food about a week and a half ago.  IF you have been feeding him canned get him to the vet ASAP so they can treat him.
