Question
I have a 10 wk old teacup poodle.  She has been eating well with no problems. She now has gurgling noises in her stomach. We have not changed her food. She is currently on Purina Beneful. The noises seem very loud for such a lil puppy. Should I take her to the vet? She doesnt seem like she is in any pain. Shes not whining or whimpering at this point. Im just concerned about the noises, she hasnt has this happen to her.

PS ive had her for 2 weeks now =)

Answer
Hello Tami,
It sounds like your Poodle may just be taking in some air when she eats her food.  The noise you hear is the air rolling around in her tummy.  She probably burps or has gas after eating to rid herself of the excess air.
She should grow out of this before long.  You might try a higher quality food and a diet for puppies, such as Iams Puppy or Science Diet for puppies to see if this helps.
The lower quality pet foods have alot of fillers in them that are harder for a dog to digest and Poodles seem to have alot more stomach problems than other breeds.  I am not saying anything bad about Purina foods, but they cater to the middle class buyer and therefore tend to make a "cheaper" food.

If you are still unsure, give your Vet a call and see if he/she has any other suggestions.  You don't have to take her in to the Vet to be seen, but by calling your vet, it will put your mind at ease.
