QuestionI have a 5 year old mini poodle that has begun to lick his lips and nose constantly for up to 3 minutes at a time. It almost appears to be some kind of "tick". He had been licking one of his paws to the point of making it raw, but i took him to the vet and they gave me some medicine to give him by mouth that seemed to solve that problem. I am just concerned that he may be having some kind of seizure or something. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You
AnswerDelinda,
I have one that begins doing that - and it usually (at least for me) means I need to get her in for a dental (teeth cleaning). After that she seems to quit it. I can only suppose it has something to do with possible plaque buildup and bacteria. I know it sounds wierd, but everything is sorta interconnected there and I have noticed she stops after her teeth are cleaned.
That's the only possibility I know. I had a miniature apricot that had bad teeth that did that too, and when we got her teeth cleaned, she stopped.
I wish you luck!!!
