Measuring your Poodle

Question
When measuring your Poodle, are you measuring from the shoulders to the tip of the tail or from the shoulders to the floor?  Thank you for your pending answer.

Answer
Hello Lisa,
When measuring your Poodle, you go from the point of the shoulder, down the back of the front leg to the floor.  It works even better if you lay a small ruler or other flat item across the shoulder blades and use that as your marking point.

Just for reference, a Toy Poodle is anything 10" and under, a Miniature Poodle is anything from 11"-15", and a Standard Poodle is anything over 15" at the shoulder.

I hope this helps you some.  If you have other questions about this, AKC regulations or other Poodle questions in general, please feel free to ask.
