leaving a puppy

hi. I have a 3 months old yellow lab. in a month time (so he will be 4 months old) I have to leave the country and puppy can't come with me. I was considering leaving him in a kennel (I heard good things about it) but my concerns are:
how this will affect the puppy his age?
will he have any problems in recognizing me after 2 weeks?
I am training him and he responds well to it, will he forget things?
I don't work, so he has lots of attention, never feels lonely, and seems to be very happy. can this change his behavior?
I will greatly appreciate your advice. Thank you

I don't see a problem.  We have had to leave younger puppies than that for a week with no problems.  Ella may not have been much older than that when she spent 2 weeks with us, and did fine.  As good of a time as she had with our puppy, she was still very happy to get back to her family.
