Husky not eating well

Question
Pls can someone assist me, I have male husky he is about a year and a half now.  He is calm and has a very soft nature.  He also has a female friend who is almost a year.

However he is not eating well, we use to give them pellets but it was not sufficient enough for them, I then started cooking corn meal for them, they both use to eat well and never left a drop in their bowls, my female is eating really well but my male not so good, we will put the food down he will smell it and take a few bites and just guard his bowl so that the female wont eat it, he would guard the bowl the whole night if he has to and he has trained the female so well that he wont go near his bowl she knows that he will attach.

I tried to feed him in the kitchen this evening and he refused to eat, I put some food in my hand which he ate, I then put little portions of the food on the floor and he ate some of that he then decided that its enough and sat there staring at me. 10min later he wanted to go out to my female.

He does not seem to be depressed or sick, he still talks to me and wags his tale.  Do I need to spend more time with him and take him walking more, he is really thin not over thin but when you look at my female she is really healthy.

Please can you help me.

My second question is how long do females stay on heat for, my female is on heat and she is bleeding is it something i need to be concerned about or is it normal it has been about two weeks now.  At first she got really round around her tummy and i thought she was pregnant but she is not, we checked her tummy and her boobs/teets and they are not there as they would be when a female is pregnant.

Pls can you advise me on what to do.

Thank you
Iris

Answer
I need more information here on the eating problem:

1) What are you feeding?
2) Are treats involved?
3) How much are you feeding?
4) How often are you feeding?
5) What is the dog's weight?
6) Has he lost any weight?

With that info I should be able to help.

As for the bitch in heat, 2 to 3 weeks isn't uncommon, and first heats are often longest.  Get her fixed and it shouldn't be a problem.
