hello i will be getting a pom puppy from a friend, and i was just wondering when can a pom puppy be separated from its mother how many weeks. I want this puppy and cant wait to get it it is now 2 weeks old so how long now till i can get it.

The mother will probably start weaning her pups at about 6-8 weeks old and they should stay with her till they are AT LEAST 8-10 weeks old.  She will teach them companion behavior and dog manners.  They will also need to be with her and on soft foods till they get through the weaning stage as that is when a lot of pups suffer hypoglycemia episodes.

Be patient and visit often-washing your hands before touching them :o) and making sure your new pup has started a vax regimine before letting it on the ground to play.
