Pom jealousy?

Hello Trish,

My pom is 11 months old and is very sweet to everyone but my 2 yr. old niece.  He is very aggressive with her, nips at her, barks, and growls.  He is fine with my nephew (7 yrs. old) and his friends.  I am constantly telling my pom "no" and will not let him out of my sight. I have even put him in "time out".  I know you have raised your poms around young children.  Please help.  How can I help him to stop this behavior towards her?

He needs to be taught that she is not "under" him in the pack order.  Turn him on his back and let her hold him suppervised.  Adn scold severly when he growls.  Don't let her play with him unsupervised.  

He might get over it, he is still young.  He is asserting his dominance over her.  Nephew is bigger and he sees him as more dominant in his pack.
