excitement urination

Question
Trish, how many percent% of purebred Pom males have a "pee excitement" problem continuing on beyond one year of age? Is it rare? Mine needs to wear a continuous diaper, when not on his 3x a day walk, and otherwise is a well behaved obedient dog at 15 months. I really do not want to live with the problem of confining my dog to the kitchen linoleum. Is my only recourse to give this dog to Pom Rescue and start all over again? How can I be sure that my next Pom will not have this unacceptable problem?

thank you!

Answer
I don't know the percentage but it is a common confidance issue in a lot of dogs-here is more info on it

and submissive urination-

they can't help it.  It takes teaching them confidance and patience.

Best of luck.
