QuestionI have a three year old female dachshund and she is constantly licking us, the furniture, even the air(ya that does sound funny). I dont know what to do to stop this.

I would make sure her tongue is not sore, make sure she has plenty of water, and have your vet check her to make sure she has not issues. Sometimes it can come from a bad tooth, need for a dental, or can be just stress related. You can try to give her bones and toys and when she goes to lick, offer the bone and tell her no lick. Do not sound harsh. Make sure it is not from a health issue. My dog licks from not getting any attention where I got her - she was kept in a cage and she is very much a people person but had no people contact. I just keep making her stop by telling her no and drawing her attention away from the need to lick - she is getting better about it.
