Cleaning under the tail.

I have a male that is 12 mo old. He is very loveable and has the best disposition but now everybody in my house (except me) is afraid to get near him because he has a problem expelling all of his fecal matter. I have to baby wipe away under his tail and pretty much from his anus to the base of his testicles every day. I have even gone to the extent of trying to trim the hair from his tail that may have been blocking but to no avail. Do you have any helpful advice for me or am I s.o.l.? (no pun)lol.

Well, let's see now.....you might try changing is food to one that produces a more solid stool. You can try coating the offending area with vaseline or baby oil, something to make clean up a bit less time consuming.

Aside from that, you are definitely s.o.l !  lolol

This wasn't part of your question, but if you have no plans to breed the dog, you would do well to have him neutered in the near future. Older intact males are very prone to bladder cancer and testicular cancer as well as urinary tract infections. Just wanted to mention it because the longer you wait, the higher the risk of anesthesia complications. Good luck.
