Bulldog Itching

My english bulldog has been itching and scratching herself uncontrollably over the past week.  She has made herself bleed in a few spots and seems to be completely itchy all over her body.  We haven't changed anything over the past year so we don't think she would develop an allergy all of a sudden.  Do you know why she's doing this and/or how to stop it?  Thanks!

This sounds like a contact allergy of some sort, maybe to a yard fertilizer, carpet cleaner, floor cleaner, laundry detergent, room deodorizer or the like.

Try a Benadryl and see if it helps. If it does, you can give her one twice a day.  However, this doesn't solve the mystery of what's causing the itching.

If this persists, I just you take her to your vet for a check up.
