English Bulldogs First Heat Cycle

I was reading the last answer regarding the bulldog's first heat cycle...my english pup is only 4 1/2 months and she also started having urinary problems every few minutes. However, she is also spotting blood. We thought this would be her period. If she had a urinary track infection would it also bleed?? How would a puppy get urinary track infection??

This is probably cystitis and you will need to get medication right away. Little girl puppies are very prone to this.

When female puppies pee, you'll notice their vulva is usually on the ground, in the dirt. It's caused by bacteria and has nothing to do with a heat cycle.

Don't put off treatment.
