Question
We have been giving My Victorian Bulldog the antibiotics, and the "leaking" is slowing down, but now on his stomach, there is red rash looking areas, but you can feel where the red is. Could this be a side effect of the antibiotics? or is it just the infection coming out?

Question -
I have a Victorian Bulldog, male,aprox.8 1/2 months old. He has problems with "pooping". He was recently given medication by the vet for hook worms, and antibiotics for infection around the rectal area. the problem is is that he leaks poop. he has done it for a month or so, as the person who gave him to us told us. It is like he can't control it. What do I do?

Answer -
I would give the dog time to get over the hook worm infestation and finish his course of antibiotics. Then have another fecal done to be sure that there are no parasites still present.

His diet may have something to do with it too.  Perhaps it's a food allergy of some sort.

If this continues for much longer, I recommend that you consult a specialist. This is very unusual.

Answer
This sounds like an entirely separate issue, perhaps a staph infection, or it could be just a contact dermatitis.

If this dog continues to develop one problem after another, he really needs to see a good vet for a complete work up, blood work, xrays, etc.  This dog is too young to be having all this wrong with him.
