Question
English Bulldog
Hello,
I am about to take in an English Bulldog which was left in a shelter. However, when I went to meet him, I noticed that his nose was pushed in much further than you would normally see in a Bulldog, and he was breathing kind of heavy. Will his nose be a serious problem in the future? Should I take him to the vet as soon as I get him? Thank you!
AnswerHi Evelyn, Well, Thanks for adopting a shelter pet! This Bulldog may have an elongated soft pallet issue. You should raise his dishes off the floor about 6" ( Raised feeding station)
Yes, Please have the Vet look at his mouth and palate area as soon as possible.
He may need surgery to correct this problem. A Elongated palate doesn't always need surgery.
Only the Vet will be able to tell for sure.
I do wish you luck! Again, thanks for adopting this cutie boy!
