Feeding a 6 month old Eng Bulldog

Question
WE have a 6 month old Eng Bulldog she weighs about 35 lbs.  Approximatley how much food should she eat in one day (how many cups)?  And should she be fed once or twice a day?

Thank you!

Answer
She should be eating twice a day until she's about 9 months old and then you can feel ok about changing over to adult food but do it gradually.

It's difficult for me to say what is enough for your dog without seeing her. I generally recommend putting down 2 cups at a feeding and if she cleans it up like a vaccumn and acts like she's starving, you may have to give her more, in 1/2 cup increments.

Keep in mind it may seem like a lot for a puppy but she will level off once she stops growing.  My adults eat about 3 cups a day. If you have the option of free feeding her, it works the best. Just put down a big bowl of food and leave it until 5 in the evening. She may pig out initially but once she realizes the food is readily available, she will cut back.  Sometimes this isn't possible for folks who work full days.
