bulldog good breed for cat/children?

thanks for offering your expertise.

we're looking for a dog and i love bulldogs, but i wonder if it's a good breed for us. we have a little girl who's 2 and an adult cat.

since both my wife and i work full-time, we're leaning toward an adult dog. if bulldogs are the right breed, any recommended rescue/adoption agencies in southern california? if bulldogs are not the right breed, any other medium/small breeds you would recommend?

I don't think a puppy is a good idea for you at this time with both you and your wife working all day. A puppy and a 2 yr. old is like having 2 two year olds at the same time! Rescue would be a good thing. I don't have any contacts in CA, but I suggest you contact a vet or an all breed dog club in your area.  Once you find a breeder, you should be able to find a rescue person.  Good luck.
