Question
QUESTION: I have an eng bulldog pup (12 weeks) she has a problem pooping, and her anal area is protruding but she is not constipated.  The vet said he has never seen this before, it might be nerve damage.
She has been checked throughly by the vet (intestine,organs,etc...and no sign of parasites or worms of any kind) Have you ever heard of anything like this? I am completely devistated and do not know what do think or do.  Please help me.

ANSWER: Hi Michelle,  Find a vet that works with English bulldogs.  She may have a prolapsed anal sac.  Can you push it back into the proper area?  Did the vet try to push the prolape back in?

Give me a little more info on how the exam was conducted?

QUESTION: thank you for your response.  I dont think its a prolapsed anal sac, only because the entire anal area is enlarged.  She poops as if she doesnt realize she is going, she has been on iams puppysmart since 5weeks of age. The vet examined her by squeezing the anal area, he checked the anal glands thinking they might be full and that is why it was enlarged. You can push the area in however it appears to be puffy. I would greatly appreciate any helpful information that you might have heard about.  Thank you again.
