Question
my 4 month old has a mouth sore on one side, and a lot of baby teeth coming out and new ones coming in. the vet gave him some pills but that does not seem to work. he has strong breathe. there is no mucus and he eats very well, but i know it can not be comfortable. what can i do

Answer
Shannon,

I AM NOT A VET.  I hate to second guess your vet, but the most standard treatment is a round of clindamyasin <antirobe aquadrops> and a small round of prednisone for the soreness.  You never did tell me what the pills were or how long the kitten has been on them and how you know they are not helping.  It may be that the vet is, essentially, doing what should be done for the situation.

The soreness only lasts a week or two and the kittens usually do quite well.  So your 4 month old would possibly do just as well if you just waited it out.

Best regards... Norm.
