Question
My dearest Jess:After three different visits to different vets at considerable cost and not a single answer about Squeaks condition. hard breathing, nose running, lethargy. Taking your advise to take her immediately to the vet proved fruitless as they all said they didn't have any idea what could be wrong despite my telling them what you suspected, their next suggestion was to put her down. One wanted $270.00 to do that. Wish you were closer and able to suggest an adequate person to go see.

Answer
Oh Len! I'm sorry to hear that! I wish I had a good person to refer you to, as well. There's nothing more heartbreaking than losing a loved one except losing a loved one without knowing why (and even getting ripped off in the process). At least having some answers would give you guidance as to a decision, and some closure. The one thing that will give you some peace is that Squeak was very loved, and I know cats sense that. I'm sure she lived a very content life, and that's so much more than many animals have the chance to do.

I hope all the good memories will stick with you, and the sadness won't linger. Hang in there, and keep up the good work if any more strays find their way into your life!

Jess
