Missing Norwegian FC, behaviour?

Question
Our 5 yr old indoor Norwegian Forest cat escaped thru an open window a few days ago, there have been no sightings at all, all info I can find says indoor cats will hide outside and be hard to find, I just don't see this with our cat so am confused as to where else to look. He is very friendly, loves people, and got out once last month and hopped the neighbours fence and a good sniff around for an hour and came home, we did have to call for a while! He is 6.5kg and a personality as big so I am at a loss to know what he might do, I can picture him walking up to humans easily?  Do you have any experience or knowledge in this field?  We are getting desparate!  Thanks very much for any help.

Answer
Jan,

One problem is that cats are very good at hiding in plain sight. Your NFC will stay close top home. so you may just have to keep looking.

Another very real possibility is that someone found your cat and has taken him in.

One option is to leave your garage door opened a bit so he could come in there and provide food and water for him.  He may just wander back in!

Have you tried putting up lost cat posters in your neighborhood?

Have you tried calling the local shelters and veterinary hospitals?

Good luck trying to find him.  Please let me know if he turns up.

Best regards... Norm.
