Never received papers

Question
Try to keep this short. I bought a cat who was registered with TICA & was to receive my papers upon verification that he was neutered. Before this was done, I acquired his half-brother who ended up dying of FIP (necropsy was done). The breeder became defensive & after several attempts to get compensation & both their papers, I was told their house burnt down & they lost everything yet her website stayed active for a couple of years after that. I haven't gone to that State yet to verify if this is true. Is there any way to get these papers if I have the birthdate & parents names? Thank you for any assistance you can give.

Answer
Joni,

Have you tried contacting TICA.  This is where I would start.  Do you have anything in writing?  If not, any verbal contract is probably useless!

Frankly, in these cases, papers are rarely forthcoming from the people who sold you the cats.  Fortunately, the vast majority of breeders are respectable and will honor their agreements.  However, as in all walks of life, there are those who are just not going to comply with their promises.

I wish I could be of more help, but I have seen these cases before, and they usually are not resolved to the purchaser's satisfaction.

Good luck & best regards... Norm.
