cat MISbehavior

Question
I have several male/female cats, range in age from 2 to 6, all fixed.  All of them (except 1) chase one of the females, ALL THE TIME.  I am going nuts.  This just seems to get worse and she is afraid of everything now.  She will come to me but not really get close with me anymore.  It just seems to be getting worse and no matter what I do, it changes nothing.

Answer
Hi Laurie,

I have the same problem. It seems in a multi cat household there is usually one cat that seems to be on the bottom of the pecking order. In all my years with my cats I can't seem to get them to stop and leave her alone. I have her in room separate from all the other cats. She has everything of her own in there.
The door is left open so she can join me outside of the room if she wants. I also have put her bed behind the door. This gives her a little protection if a cat goes in there. And they do. I also keep an eye on which cats are the worst instigators and try to keep them away from that room. I go in there and spend some time with her. And there are a couple of cats that don't fight with her, so they wander in once in a while.

I wish I could help you more with her but I am in the same boat and this is what I have had to do. Good luck with your little one.

Ciao, Karen
