cat peeing when locked up

15:29:44

Question
A week ago, my normally very nice cat began peeing on my bed when he is closed into the master bedroom/bath with his companion. We only do this when no-one is home, or when they are being too rough in playing while people are sleeping. Now, I am afraid to lock him up, but they are causing mischief when we go out, or cannot keep an eye on them. I have changed the litter box 3 times daily, and they are on low-ash food. I don't think this is a physical illness. It looks like a temper tantrum. I would hate to have to get rid of him. He is very sweet, but I cannot be with him all of the time.

Answer
Stephanie,

I would suggest putting a shower curtain on the bed then cover it with an old blanket or spread. Don't just use plastic, that attracts cats to pee. That way there is no peeing on your bed. Yes, it sounds like he is upset about being left and locked up.
