sore teats

We just adopted out out kittens, they were eight weeks old.  Weaned but still nursing whenever they got the chance.  Its been two days since the  last kitten left and the mothers breasts have become very very hard and seem to be pretty painful for her.  I know her milk is drying, but is there anything I can do to ease her discomfort?

It is called Mastitis. You can take her to the vet for a shot to dry up her milk or you can reduce her water & food intake to assist in drying up the milk supply.
