Question
I am taking care of a three week old orphaned kitten. He has begun teething and all he does is cry until I stick my finger in his mouth. Is there any other way to help my poor kitten, and to save my fingers?

Answer
Donna,

We have used little (toy dog sized) rawhide chews for kittens. When they are not chewing on them, they like to play with them.  It sure will save your fingers.

Two books you might look for to help you in saving this orphaned kitten are:

Hand Raising the Orphaned Kitten by M.L Papurt, DVM, 1999, Barrons Education Series, Hauppage, NY

Kittens for Dummies by Dusty Rainbolt, 2004, Wiley Publishing, Hoboken, NJ

Good Luck with your kitten.

Best regards... Norm.
