Siamese cries all night

Question
Hi Becky,
I have two 7yo Siamese girls, sisters. My problem is with my blue point. She has been sitting in the hallway outside my (and my roommates) bedrooms and yelling loudly at all hours of the night. I call her and she ignores me usually, but sometimes she'll come in and let me pet her for a while, then she leaves and starts crying again. I have moved recently, but she was fine until recently. I rearranged my bedroom recently, I wonder if that has anything to do with it. Also my boyfriend spent the night on Saturday and this is when this seems to have started. She sleeps with me every night, and has for the 7 years I've had her. I dont know if its a territory thing - she doesnt like anyone else in 'her' bed? She is extremely needy, and very attached to me. Her sister, a lilac point, is perfect, and sleeps wherever with no problems. I dont know what to do, I'm so frustrated I'm considering getting rid of the blue point which would break my heart. But this has to stop. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks,
Jessy Walker

Answer
Hi Jessy,

Yes, Siamese are quite the vocal ones!  That's what I love about them, but sounds like you are having a major problem.  Cats do not like change, and Siamese are one of the worst.  It has upset her that you have not only moved, but you changed your bedroom around, and now....
"someone" has taken her place in "HER" bed!  haha.  Seriously, she thinks you belong to her, and therefore, she doesn't like having an intruder.  I really don't know what to tell you except to give her lots of attention. She is crying because she is upset about something, but the problem is,  what ????   My cats cry at the bathroom sink so that I'll turn the water on for them to get a drink.  (talk about spoiled!).   I really hope you don't try to find her a new home, as that will be extremely stressful on her and she will have a major time trying to adjust. If this has upset her, you can only imagine what that would do.
Maybe you can get some special cat treats and when she starts yowling, call her and give them to her.  Heck, I'd even try a little tuna if it will keep her quiet!!  lol
I hope it works out for you.
God Bless,
Becky
