QuestionMy cat gave birth to only one kitten. Now shes acting weird, like meowing all the time and just real cuddley. Is this normal?
AnswerHi Rich,
How long has it been since she gave birth to the one kitten? Has it been more than 3 hours? Did she deliver the placenta? She may be having problems with her labor. Do you still feel contractions on her belly? Do you still feel kittens in her? If you think she is having problems and something isn't right you need to call your vet. Most cats give birth to multiple kittens. It is unusual to give birth to just one kitten. The most likely time that a cat gives birth to one is if it is her first litter or a specialized breed of cat. Cats do sometimes stop labor and restart if under stress. I definitely would call your vet and consult with him. Here's an article that might help.

Good luck and take care.
